RICKY KLING Nationality SWEDISH D.O.B 2 June 1987 BRITISH CAREER: (2007) Oxford (2007-08) Lakeside; (2009-10) Eastbourne; (2011) Belle Vue. MAJOR HONOUR: Swedish Under-21 Champion: 2008. CLUB HONOUR: Elite Shield winner: 2009 [Eastbourne].2012 STARTING AVERAGE: 4.09 (EL). Ricky's first foray into British speedway came with Oxford during the year of their closure which opened the doors for him to join Lakeside and after a season and a half with the Hammers he became the victim of the points limit and was loaned to Eastbourne where he recovered from a slow start to achieve a plus 5 point average, enough for the Eagles to want him back for the 2010 campaign.
During December 2009 he was the subject matter of an exchange deal that saw him acquired by Poole as a full asset in exchange for Daniel Davidsson joining Lakeside on a permanent deal.
The Pirates, who couldn't accommodate Kling in their 2010 set-up honoured the loan arrangement with Eastbourne and achieved a 5.44 average with the Eagles that year.
He was northwards bound in 2011 when Belle Vue stepped in to do a loan deal with Poole after the Pirates were again hampered by the numbers game. For a second successive season Ricky struggled in the early part of the campaign but discovered some form as the season progressed, his average dipping to 4.09, a figure that, 2 years after acquiring him, enables Poole to include the Swede in their starting line up.
