NEXT ACTION: LEICESTER v POOLE - SGB PREMIERSHIP

8th April 2017

There is a need to put the disappointment of an early KO cup exit behind them as the Volvo Cars Poole Pirates hit the road again today with a visit to Leicester.

It marks the opening of Poole's SGB Premiership campaign as they face a side that has already accumulated four Premiership points and boast top position in the early table.
A week ago the new look Lions beat Swindon and almost stole a win at Wolverhampton last Monday night, which highlights the task ahead of the Pirates this evening.
It is a return to LE4 for Poole skipper Hans Andersen, the venue where he suffered his season ending crash last August whilst former Lions rider Nicolai Klindt makes a second appearance at Beaumont Sports Complex this year having guested for the home side in that win over Swindon.
Lewis Kerr returns for the Pirates having missed the KO cup quarter final defeat at Belle Vue last night due to his SGB Championship engagements and for similar reasons both Erik Riss and Josh Bates will be missing for the British Champion, Danny King, led Lions. Rory Schlein and Jan Graversen will both guest for the Lions' absentees. Former Poole rider Kacper Gomolski lines up with the Lions who are completed by regulars Josh Auty (back from injury) Kim Nilsson and reserve Danny Ayres.
