Having re-shuffled his pack, VOLVO CARS POOLE PIRATES promoter Matt Ford will be hoping his side can end their bleak run of home form when they host Somerset Rebels at Wimborne Road on Wednesday.

Defeats by Belle Vue, King's Lynn and Swindon in their past three meetings leaves the Pirates facing an unprecedented run under Ford's watch of no home points in four and with Forest Holme as special guests at the venue this week Ford will be hoping the only charity given will be to the local hospice.

"We need to start putting home points on the board" admitted Matt Ford, "we have been doing better on our travels of late but all that good work is being undone by our home form which has certainly been too charitable. We have to up our game here; there can be no excuses. I am looking for total commitment throughout the team. Somerset haven't been too active of late but you can't read anything in to that as they could come out all eager and guns ablazing or alternatively they might be a bit rusty. Whatever they do we simply have to better."

Making his season debut for the Pirates will be Edward Kennett who was the principal of the latest crew change made by the Dorset club after time was called on the poor form of Krzysztof Kasprzak.

With new averages in effect for this meeting, captain Hans Andersen will switch to the number one berth and the new team dynamics might give a fresh lease of life to the Pirates.

The visitors are set to welcome back Dane Patrick Hougaard, who has been recently sidelined with a shoulder injury, although they do have an injury concern over Lewis Kerr, himself a Pirate earlier in the year, as he suffered a hand injury whilst riding for Scunthorpe on Sunday, but he is expected to be fit to ride.
