NEXT ACTION: WOLVES V PIRATES - MONDAY AUGUST 7TH
The Volvo Cars Poole Pirates have another Monday night on the road when they travel to Wolverhampton this week.
They will meet the team that they last picked up league points against, having returned from the Midlands three weeks ago with a three league points. Since, however, the Pirates have failed to collect any points in four attempts and find themselves 6 points behind third place Wolves.
Poole are unchanged from the side that lost to Belle Vue a week ago and are due to meet Wolverhampton who have suffered a blow with Sam Masters sustaining a broken collar-bone which riding for Edinburgh on Friday, the day he was confirmed a the wild-card for the Australian GP in October.
The loss of Masters, their third highest averaged rider, means the Wolves will operate rider replacement with all bar Freddie Lindgren able to cover.
Poole boss Matt Ford warns "Things haven't changed in so much as we face another tough night on the road needing to try and recover some form. The aim is still to secure a place in the play-offs and we are presently holding fourth place. The three sides ahead of us are beginning to put some distance between us but we need to put our poor run behind us and try and put some more points on the board. We did it three weeks ago with six of the seven riders that will be riding for us this time around so we have to believe that we can do so again."
