SEMI FINAL OPPONENTS TO BE ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY
The next chapter of the Volvo Cars Poole Pirates tumultuous season will be unveiled tomorrow when they learn who they are to meet in the end of season play-off semi-finals.
Having scraped home at Somerset on Friday night with a dramatic last heat advantage to confirm they would finish in fourth place, the Pirates now await to see whether top club Swindon select them and that decision will be taken ahead of the Robins' televised fixture at Wolverhampton on Monday September 4th
Promoter Matt Ford admits "like everyone I am waiting to find out our destiny for the play-offs. I would imagine Swindon will pick us as they have ridden our track so well this season, but you never know in Speedway. Our 2 away wins and 6 wins in 7 will not have gone unnoticed by Rosco"
"Speedway is about form, and a great slice of luck, plus of course riders other commitments. Where and whoever we race I know our opponents will be determined, but I can assure everyone that we are a different team to that of a month ago."
This season the first leg of the two semi-finals will be held on separate nights, with only the concluding second legs being staged simultaneously.
