Poole Ready Power Pirates saved Lakeside from a home hammering when the visitors capitulated over the final three heats but still managed to inflict a third straight home defeat on the usually powerful Purfleet Hammers.

Poole Ready Power Pirates claimed their long overdue home win in rampant style, avenging for Monday's 17 points defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton with a 20 point success. New boy Dakota North claimed his first ever Elite league maximum with a paid 12 return whilst Chris Holder dropped just a single point from his five rides and both riders were quick to acknowledge the improvements in the Poole track.

Poole Ready Power Pirates were put to the sword by Wolverhampton and went down 38-55 and have crucially lost the services of inspirational reserve Kyle Newman for Wednesday's return fixture at Wimborne Road.

Defending league champions Poole had to settle for a hard earned draw against in-form Belle Vue Aces, a result that has left the Pirates with just one home win from three Wimborne Road league meetings so far this season.

 

JANOWSKI RULED OUT WITH BROKEN BONES

Poole captain Maciej Janowski has been ruled out of the Pirates home meeting against Blee Vue on Wednesday (29th April) and will also miss the lub's Bank Holiday trip to Wolverhampton after it was revealed he has two broken bones in his knee.

After consultation with the riders and appropriate officials involved, the meeting unfortunately cannot continue on the grounds of safety. The result will stand.

Coventry boss Gsry Havelock warned that his Bees' side were seeking revenge for last Friday's Pirates' raid at Coventry and the former Poole captain was true to his word as for the second successive season the Midland's side broke into fortress Wimborne Road and left with league bounty.

The Dorset side got off to a storming start in this early season top of the table clash at Coventry with three maximum heat scores inside the first four heats to give themselves something to defend against a Bees' mid-meeting onslaught, as the injury jinx struck again for the Ready Power Pirates.
